Capturing the moments that mean the most to you!
Hello! Welcome to SBS Photography!
Thanks so much for stopping by. My name is Stephanie Brocavich and I'm the lady behind the lens at SBS Photography.
I have always had a love for photography. When I was younger my parents gave my first camera (a cute little blue Fisher Price camera) and I was hooked. I often made my family and friends pose for some styled "photo shoots". I dabbled a little more into photography as the Arts and Entertainment editor for my school's newspaper, where I learned some basic Photoshop skills, and was introduced the elements of graphic design.
Photography ended up taking a backseat as I pursued my degrees, and it wasn't until my husband and I brought home the cutest little pup, that my passion for photography resurface. When I tell you that my dog LOVES photos, I am not kidding. He will hold a pose, and stay perfectly still until you snap a photo. I quickly found that my camera and cell phone weren't cutting it for the adorable photo ideas that I had with my new model. I decided to invest in my first DSLR, and spent the next year studying how it worked, and learning how to compose images. Along the way I had some very supportive family and friends that let me practice (over and over) on them.
Now almost six years later, my passion has turned into my own photography business. I love capturing natural emotion and the connections between my clients. I love the challenge of creating unique sets for my sessions. I can often be seen (and heard) doing something to get a genuine smile out of my clients (including but not limited to singing "Baby Shark", "The Wheels on the Bus" , cracking jokes and making the occasional fart noise). I think of the wonderful clients I've worked with as friends, and enjoy watching their families grow.
When I'm not behind the camera I am the mom to a sassy three year old, and my five year old pup. I am also a full time middle school science teacher and a two season coach. I have lots of experience working with many different personalities (so no need to stress out if your toddler isn't usually into photos, I will try to win them over).
I love traveling throughout the state of Connecticut and getting to see all of the wonderful parks. While I do have a studio space in Southbury, I never turn down the chance to shoot on location (especially if it's a beach!) I love animals, and highly encourage my clients to bring them along for some photos.
I can't wait to talk to you further and begin planning your one of a kind session. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have!
